“You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self.
Don't turn away from possible futures before you're certain you don't have anything to learn from them.”

Ostara

Ostara came and went in the blink of an eye! As happens, life has been busy with all its ups and downs and I'm finally finding some time to get to some of the things that have been on my to-do list. Like post Ostara pictures!.

Here are some pictures of my Ostara altar for this year. I left up most of what I had for Imbolc and added a few items like the eggs I had dyed last year. I changed out the crystals adding some pretty ones that I thought represented Ostara.

If you follow my blog you'll know that last year Mary spoke to me saying she wanted to be on my Imbolc altar and so she is here and will stay on the altar through the end of May. As May is the month of Mary, I'll change the altar to reflect this special month.

I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Ostara!

More Moon Garden

I've spent the last two days painting the arbor in my Moon Garden and it's looking pretty awesome. The Bridal Wreath Spirea are blooming which makes the whole backyard really light up at night. With it being a Dark Moon the garden isn't being shown in it's glory, but that shouldn't be a problem in a few days when she'll be back happily shining down on my new Moon Garden.

I ordered the 'Flora' statue last night and it should be here in about a week, so I'm really excited about that. I'm still looking for the 'perfect' bench which I think I've narrowed down to two or three, so it will be another few weeks before that's in place.

After a slow start last year, I'm elated that the Moon Garden is almost complete. When it is I plan on dedicating it to the Moon Goddess and then sitting out and enjoying it in the evenings knowing that she is right there with me . . .

Yule Altar Additions

Remember that little 'Frosty Fern' from my previous post? Well, he's all potted up now and has found his place on the Yule altar. I have to tell you that I've never been quite so enthralled by a plant before. While they all have their special places and special meanings, this little guy has stolen my heart.

While reading about the traditions of Yule somewhere (I'm reading in so many places I can't quite remember where) I came across a lovely description of the 'Goddess cradling the newborn Sun-God in her arms'. That description stuck with me and while browsing the internet just the other day, I found this gorgeous statue that captured that description to beautifully for me. So rather than waiting for the bidding to end, I jumped all over the 'buy it now' button and now, just a few short days later, this gorgeous piece sits on my Yule altar.

Every time I gaze at this piece, my heart is warmed by the tenderness of the Goddesss cradling the newborn Sun. It's an image that will carry me through the holidays as I'm reminded what the season is really, truly all about . . .
